Loretta Young had two television series: The Loretta Young Show which ran from September 20, 1953 to September 10, 1961 on Sunday nights (10:00 to 10:30) on NBC, and the New Loretta Young Show which was broadcast from Spetember 24, 1962 through March 18, 1963 on Monday nights (10:00 to 10:30) on CBS.
The first series consisted of plays introduced by, and, as often as not, starring Miss Young. According to the best-selling book "The Complete Directory of Prime Time Network TV Shows", "The period and location varied, the story may have been serious, amusing, or touching, but all of the tales told on The Loretta Young Show were uplifting. They portrayed the nobler side of the human spirit and were designed to teach as well as entertain."
On the New Loretta Young Show , Loretta had a continuing role as a writer and widowed mother of seven children.
