Loretta Young - Loretta Lynn's Namesake

Although Loretta's career prospects seemed momentarily dubious, she was still a darling of the fan magazines - her fame and beauty were even known in the remote hills of Kentucky. When a girl was born to an impoverished mountain couple in Butcher Hollow in that state, the baby's mother picked up the movie magazine, saw a picture of the beautiful Loretta Young, and named her new daughter Loretta. The baby grew up to be Loretta Lynn.
