In attendance were Peter, Mary Coney, family friend Sonja Bertrand, and the two women between whom all the friction was whirling, Loretta and Judy. Tension had been building for over a decade, ever since Judy had been offered an advance to write a book.

The above excerpt is taken from Chapter Eighteen of Edward Funk's unpublished book "Loretta Young: Journey of a Hollywood Soul"
